Working Group 1 combines theoretical expertise in acoustics of metamaterials and porous media available within DENORMS Action.
The main aim of this group is to organise and animate research activities on the modelling of acoustic metamaterials, metasurfaces, sonic crystals and porous materials within the scope of the Action framework. To achieve this aim, the Working Group will promote sharing research expertise among DENORMS network members, integrate advances in the acoustic metamaterials, sonic crystals and conventional acoustic materials and disseminate results to wider scientific/industrial community.

The impact activities of the Work Group 1 include
- Maintaining open access to the research results available within the DENORMS network. We encourage all members to share available in-house software and codes that can be used to achieve work group main aims.
-
Supporting collaboration between members of DENORMS network. We coordinate STSM in order to share the research expertise, encourage joint publications and research proposals.
-
Disseminating results to other DENORMS Working Groups with a focus on the experimental validation of the theoretical results and potential industrial applications.
-
Disseminating the results to wider scientific community by organising training schools, workshops and special conference sessions.
